FRACKVILLE – One community organization in Frackville is helping out another in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Frackville Elks Lodge No. 1533 announced today they met with volunteers from the Frackville Ministerium Food Bank last week to make a donation.

The donation, in the amount of $2,000, was acquired through the Elks National Foundation’s Community Investments Program, and must be used to support local charitable activities “such as hosting a community clean-up day, purchasing supplies for a homeless shelter, or organizing a school literacy fair,” the Elks lodge said.

In the midst of the pandemic, Lodge members decided donating to a local food bank was the best way to use the grant funding.
