Early learning center students get up-close look at monster truck
FRACKVILLE – When Kyle “Bucket” Seasock visited Sisters Early Learning Center Thursday morning, it brought back memories of his childhood.
The Frackville native is following in his dad’s footsteps.
Seasock said he remembered his dad, John Seasock, a Shenandoah Valley graduate and two-time Monster Jam racing champion, visiting his daycare to show the kids his truck.
With three events under his belt on the Overdrive Monster Truck Tour, Kyle was able to do the same at his child’s daycare Thursday.
Around 9am, dozens of students at the early learning center off Pine Street in Frackville were able to see Aftershock in person and ask questions.
Some of the students’ questions ranged from how does the driver get in to how safe is the truck in a crash.
For the latter, Kyle demonstrated an important facet of safety equipment in any form of motorsports: the helmet and the head-and-neck support (HANS) device.
He said he hopes to use his experience in life to inspire others to pursue their dreams. He also expressed appreciation to Northern Keystone Towing for the use of their rollback to bring the truck to the daycare.
Kyle’s brother, JR, also races on the Overdrive tour, behind the wheel of Play’n Hookie.
The Seasocks are three of many monster truck drivers to come from east-central Pennsylvania. Alex Blackwell, also from Frackville; Charlie Rarig, from Catawissa; and the Slifkos from the Pottsville area all have competed.
