DUI suspected in Heights crash

SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS – A Shenandoah Heights woman was taken into custody under suspicion of DUI after side swiping two cars on Schuylkill Avenue.

The crash happened around 7:30pm Feb. 29, state police at Frackville said, when Mona Khalil was parking at her home in the 200 block of Schuylkill Avenue.

Troopers said she was headed eastbound in a 2005 Chevy Uplander when she side swiped the driver side doors of a 2012 Kia Optima and the driver side mirror of a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer, both parked along the curb of Schuylkill Avenue.

No injuries were reported, and no vehicles were towed from the scene.

Khalil was asked to perform a series of standard field sobriety tests and was placed into custody under suspicion of DUI, troopers said. Charges are pending.
