Drug busts lead to charges in Girardville, Mahanoy City
GIRARDVILLE – Two drug busts last week led to charges against men from here and Mahanoy City.
In Girardville, Gavin Mordecai Allen, 27, of 105 Reed Street, is facing felony possession with intent to deliver and several misdemeanor possession charges, filed by the State Office of the Attorney General (OAG).
According to the criminal complaint filed by Narcotics Agent Thomas Sedor, the OAG began an investigation into Allen in October regarding the sale of methamphetamine, and, around 3:30pm Thursday, police searched Allen’s Reed Street home.
He and his grandmother were home at the time, police said.
In Allen’s second floor bedroom, they found 87.5 grams of methamphetamine, 3.5 grams of cocaine, 1 gram of fentanyl, and 87.5 grams of marijuana.
They also found three scales, three cell phones, and packaging material.
Allen was taken into custody and interviewed, where police said he admitted to selling met from his home and using fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, and Xanax.
He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $75,000 cash bail.
A prelminary hearing is set for Nov. 29.
In Mahanoy City, Andrew Zeiders, 46, of 408 West Market Street, is facing felony possession with intent to deliver, and misdemeanor possession charges.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Narcotics Agent James Smith, police searched Zeiders’ Market Street home on Thursday.
There, they found four ounces of methamphetamine, pacakging materials, manufacturing paraphernalia, and $1,122.
He was interviewed and polie said he admitted to selling crystal methamphetamine to multiple customers.
He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $50,000 bail.
Zeiders posted that bail Tuesday through a bailbomdsman from Hamburg.
A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 30.
