Dauphin to provide HAZMAT coverage to Schuylkill Co.
POTTSVILLE – Schuylkill County is partnering with a neighboring county for hazardous materials response coverage in the event of an emergency.
For the next year, the Dauphin County Hazardous Materials Response Team will cover Schuylkill County.
“This new partnership will enhance public safety, planning, and response capabilities,” The Schuylkill County Office of Emergency Management said in a statement. “Our membership in the South Central Task Force enables this collaboration to better serve our communities.”
“This agreement is for one year until a longer-term plan is set in place, a similar agreement was made when DCHMRT started emergency response coverage with Perry County,” Dauphin said in a statement.
Dauphin now covers over 1,800 square miles.
