Cumberland County man injured in Ringtown Blvd. crash
PATTERSONVILLE – A Cumberland County man was taken to a Northumberland County hospital after a crash on the Pattersonville Mountain early Sunday morning.
The crash happened around 6:00am on Ringtown Boulevard near Krebs Road.
State Police at Frackville said Averry L. Barlup, 37, of Enola, was headed south on Ringtown Boulevard towards Shenandoah in a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500.
Troopers said he lost control of the truck and struck a guiderail on the northbound side of the road followed by an embankment on the southbound side.
The pickup truck sustained damage to the front passenger fender, bumper, front axle, and passenger side truck bed.
Barlup was taken to Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital by Shenandoah Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.
Two passengers — two 15-year-olds from Coal Township — were unharmed. all occupants were wearing their seatbelts.
Troopers said roadway conditions were icy at the time of the crash.
Shenandoah and Ringtown firefighters responded to the scene as well, and Steve’s Towing towed the vehicle.
