Borough provides update on Girard Park project

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - New fence posts are seen at Girard Park on Dec. 8, 2020. Little has occurred on the site since.

SHENANDOAH – The Girard Park project is awaiting materials to move forward, borough council said at their meeting last Monday.

“All the materials that are needed to finish the projects up there are all on backorder,” Vice President J.P. Dombrosky said.

Borough Manager Tony Sajone said he’s spoken to the contractors for both phases, who both relayed that they were waiting on materials.

“I know a lot of people asked me, there’s nothing going on up there,” Dombrosky said. “With the pandemic, everything’s a little bit behind.”

The two-phase project to renovate the park is being undertaken by Chilewski Enterprises, Fleetville, and Spotts Brothers, Inc., Schuylkill Haven.
