BRANDONVILLE – A borough man escaped injury, though his car was disabled, after he struck a deer and drainage culvert Tuesday in the village of Brandonville.
The crash happened around 4:45am in the area of 489 Main Boulevard, according to state troopers from the Schuylkill Haven barracks.
Benjamin Hower, 19, of Shenandoah was headed south on Main Boulevard, Route 924, in a 2014 Nissan Sentra when a deer entered the road from the east side.
Hower swerved to avoid it to no avail, striking the deer before leaving the roadway and striking a drainage culvert.
The vehicle came to a stop south of the culvert and sustained disabling damage.
Hower was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.
The vehicle was towed by Steve’s Towing, Shenandoah.
