Blythe resident, local paralegal elected to Lions Club District Governor post

POTTSVILLE – A local resident was elected to serve as the district governor for the Lions Club International district covering our county.
Jessica L. Karrer, a paralegal with the Law Firm of Williamson, Friedberg, & Jones, LLC, which has an office in Shenandoah, was elected to the post for a one-year term, leading District 14-U. The District covers Schuylkill, Carbon, Monroe, and Pike Counties, including 32 Lions club, 7 Leo clubs, and 2 Lioness Clubs.
Karrer, a Blythe Township resident, has been a Lion since 2001 with the West Penn Township Club. She has held the offices of club president, club secretary, zone and region chair, district public relations director, district information technology chair, and district newsletter editor. She was elected at the club’s 102nd International Convention this past July in Milan, Italy.
Eric M. Mika, CELA, a partner with the firm, said, “Jessica is a self-starter and leader. Her compassion and leadership abilities will undoubtedly serve the Lions Club well. We at Williamson Friedberg and Jones are very proud of her and so happy to see her continue the firm’s long-standing tradition of civic participation and giving back to our communities”.
The Lions Club International mission statement is to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation. Famous members include Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter along with Robert Clemente.
In addition to the Lions Club, Karrer is a Past Matron of the Cressona chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, and she is also the secretary at the St. Clair Rescue Hook & Ladder Fire Company.
She has two children, Jamie, and Kamryn, and is employed as an Elder Law paralegal at the law firm.
