2,000 without power in county’s west end

TOWER CITY – Over 2,000 PPL customers are without power at this hour on Schuylkill County’s West End.
PPL’s Outage Map is reporting a major outage in the Tower City-Porter Township area impacting 2,130 customers in a large area straddling the Schuylkill/Dauphin line.
The impact is listed as a tripped breaker or blown fuse, and the power company expects service to be restored by 7:00pm tonight.
About 60 are without power in various spots around the Pine Grove area and 23 are out in the Fountain area of the Hegins Valley.
