MABS board reorganizes, approves providing gate keys to Heights Fire Co.
RAVEN RUN – The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Shenandoah board of directors reorganized and voted to provide gate keys a local fire company in case of an emergency.
MABS appointed James Rusin as chairman, Leo Pietkiewicz as vice-chairman, and J.P. Dombrosky as secretary.
The board also retained Matt Rossi as solicitor and Alfred Benesch & Co. as engineers.
In other business, the board approved a request from the Shenandoah Heights Fire Company for keys to locked gates on authority property.
“Because we have so many brush fires around [our property,] they just cut the locks off our gates,” Bill Moyer, working foreman, told the board. “So it’s either replace all the locks or give them a key.”
Pietkiewicz made the motion, adding that the board should notify Aqua, Pennsylvania that the keys have been provided. Seconded by Rusin, the board voted 4-0 to approve the request. Voting in favor along with them were Dombrosky and member Frank Carduff. John Szczyglak was absent.
The board also approved the 2023 quarterly meeting dates of May 18, Aug. 17, and Nov. 16, all Thursdays, at 5pm at the authority’s office near Raven Run.
