PAFCO block party rocks block, west end

SHENANDOAH – An abridged block party was held Friday at the Polish American Fire Co. at Centre and West Streets.

Featuring the usual fare — rides on the antique fire truck, bleenies, pierogies, music, and more — the block party rocked the unit block of North West Street.

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL – James “JT” Thomas, Shenandoah, performs.

James “JT” Thomas, Shenandoah, performed for the one-day event, singing a wide variety of tunes and prompting some spectators to play along via air guitar.

A fire truck parade traversed town around 7:00pm as well.

  1. Does the Polish American Fire Company have any other Bleenie sales during the year.
    I seen it on WNEP Channel 16 on the 4:30 News and tried calling the Fire Company to find out how long they were going to be there I didn’t get an answer on the phone. We wanted to come up and buy some we were coming from Tamaqua I didn’t want to get up there for them to say they were sold out. Is there anyway they could advertise to let us know down in this area.
