Route 924 project moves on to Gold Star
SHENANDOAH – PennDOT’s contractors are now working on the Gold Star Highway phase of the Route 924 reconstruction project.
Crews began working on the highway from Laurel Street to the North Schuylkill Transfer Station yesterday, according to PennDOT’s weekly road work update.
The work, which includes milling and base repair patching, will have multiple lanes of the four-lane highway closed between now and June 11.
The $5.5 Million project is intended to reconstruct Route 924 from the Pattersonvillle/Brandonville Wye, north of the Tastee Freeze, to Harpers in Frackville, including the entirety of Main Street in Shenandoah and the Gold Star Highway in Shenandoah, Gilberton, Mahanoy Township, and West Mahanoy Township.
