PSP: Delano teen ran light at Laurel Mall entrance, hit another car
HAZLE TWP., Luzerne County – A Delano teen will be cited for running a red light and causing a collision here, State Police at Hazleton said today.
Troopers said the crash happened around 10:00pm Saturday at the entrance to the Laurel Mall at Route 93 in Hazle Township.
Cameron Cress, 18, of Delano, was headed west on Route 93 in a 2019 Jeep Cherokee and failed to stop at a steady red-light, troopers said, and struck a 2021 Toyota Rav-4, driven by a 17-year-old female from Sugarloaf, that was turning into the Laurel Mall lot.
Troopers said both vehicles suffered major damage. The Jeep suffered major front right end damage, and the Toyota had major rear right end damage.
Neither driver was injured, and both were wearing their seatbelts.
