New Castle to hire additional officers
ARNOTS ADDITION – New Castle Township will soon have more police officers on its force.
Township Supervisors approved a motion at their meeting Thursday requesting the chief of police to seek additional officers for the department.
The motion was made by Chairman Michael Tobin III, and seconded by Vice-Chair Robert Achenbach. The two voted in favor of the motion.
Supervisor Todd Geiger was absent.
Supervisors said during the meeting the department has two part-time officers.
In other business, township supervisors approved a motion to seek estimates for ductless air conditioners for the township building.
