The crash happened around 3:45pm, according to State Police at Frackville.
Christopher Caravella, 22, of Mahanoy Plane was headed north on I-81 in the area of Mile Marker 120 when he lost control of his 2006 Chevy Cobalt.
The sedan left the left lane of travel, crossed the right lane, and struck a concrete barrier on the roadside, sustaining major damage to the vehicle.
Caravella sustained a minor injury to his face, and refused transport by Frackville Ambulance.

No injuries reported in Hometown crash
HOMETOWN – No one was hurt in a two vehicle crash in this Rush Township village Saturday morning.
State Police at Frackville said the crash happened around 9:30am at Claremont Avenue and Mahanoy Avenue.
Troopers said Nancy Ward, 76, of Barnesville, was headed south on Claremont approaching Mahanoy in a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta.
Ward, troopers said, was distracted and did not see stopped traffic ahead of her. Despite applying the brakes, she struck a 2007 Hyundai Tucson in front of her, driven by 26-year-old Alexis Erin Trexler, of Tamaqua.
All occupants in both vehicles were seatbelted and uninjured, and Ward’s vehicle had to be towed.
