Charges pending against borough man found with 29 bags of heroin in W. Hazleton

WEST HAZLETON, Luzerne County – Charges are pending against a 35-year-old Shenandoah man after a traffic stop in this Luzerne County borough on May 27.

The stop happened just before 2:00am, when troopers from the Hazleton barracks said they obtained consent to search the stopped Chevy Cobalt.

Troopers found 29 bags of heroin and fentanyl, which the passenger of the vehicle said were his.

The man, an unidentified 35-year-old from Shenandoah, was taken into custody and transported to the State Police – Hazleton barracks for processing.

Charges are pending in Magisterial District Judge James Dixon’s office.
