NORTHERN SCHUYLKILL – The following is a compilation of police incidents in and around the northern Schuylkill County area handled by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Barnesville man charged for striking another with a ‘wooden object’

BUCK MOUNTAIN – A Barnesville man is facing assault and harassment charges after an argument turned physical in this Mahanoy Township village.

The incident happened around 2:30am on April 9 when troopers said Jonathan Kechula, 45, and Isiah Kechula, 21, both of Barnesville, were engaged in an argument.

Troopers said Jonathan struck Isiah in the head with a “wooden object.”

As a result, Jonathan is facing simple assault and harassment charges.

Minor injury suspected in Brandonville crash

BRANDONVILLE – A Frackville man refused transport after he struck a pole on the side of PA Route 924 on April 10.

The crash happened around 6:30am in the area of Main Boulevard and Green Mountain Road when Cody Murphy, 28, of Frackville was headed south on Route 924 in a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

State Police at Frackville said he traveled onto the east berm and struck a pole.

The Jeep was towed from the scene, and troopers said Murphy will be cited for speeding.

Troopers said Murphy suffered a “suspected minor injury” but refused transport.

Frackville man transported to hospital after West Brunswick crash

WEST BRUNSWICK TWP. – A Frackville man was taken to the Geisinger/St. Luke’s Hospital for minor injuries after a vehicle accident in this southern Schuylkill County township on April 9.

The crash happened around 9:45am at Route 61 and Cinema Boulevard, State Police at Schuylkill Haven said.

Thomas George, 72, of Frackville was headed south on Route 61 in a 2003 Ford Explorer when he turned left onto Cinema Boulevard.

Katelyn Kincaid, 25, of Hamburg was headed northbound on 61 in a 2015 Volkswagen Passat and hit George’s vehicle in the intersection.

Both vehicles were disabled, and both drivers were taken to Geisinger/St. Luke’s Hospital by Schuylkill EMS for treatment of minor injuries.

Saylorsburg woman arrested for public drunkenness at Amazon warehouse

HUMBOLDT, Luzerne County – A Saylorsburg woman is facing public drunkenness and disorderly conduct charges after an incident at the Amazon warehouse Sunday night.

State Police at Hazleton were called to the warehouse at 550 Oakridge Road around 8:24pm for reports of a violent female refusing the leave the premises.

Troopers said Natalie Alize Rodriguez, 21, of Saylorsburg was found intoxicated and belligerent.

Troopers took her into custody and to the State Police barracks in West Hazleton.

She was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct and released to a family member, troopers said.

Screen door damaged at Harwood motor home

HARWOOD, Luzerne County – State Police at Hazleton are investigating an act of criminal mischief in this Hazle Township village.

The incident was reported around 2:00pm Sunday at a motor home at Old and Cross Streets in the village.

Troopers said an unknown actor smashed the glass and damaged the screen on the door of the motorhome.
