SHENANDOAH – Shenandoah Borough Hall will be closed until further notice as a coronavirus-related precaution, borough council approved Monday night.

The preventative action was in response to similar closures mandated or encouraged by the Commonwealth, Council President Gordon Slater said.

He said council is considering a short window each day for residents to pay bills with cash, but such a window had yet to be set.

“We’re looking at not having as many people going in and out of the borough hall, for the welfare of our employees,” Slater said.

In addition, Slater said the April meeting of borough council is still scheduled but could be cancelled depending on the status of the outbreak.

Council approved a motion giving Slater authority to handle financial matters for the borough on an emergency basis, should April’s meeting be cancelled.
