Ribbon cut on new Schuylkill YMCA gymnastics facility

POTTSVILLE – Gymnasts in Schuylkill County now have a brand new facility as part of Phase II of Alvernia University’s Pottsville CollegeTowne project at the old GIANT.
Alvernia, joined by the Schuylkill YMCA and Pottsville Area Development Corporation, cut the ribbon on the new 8,000 square foot facility this week.
“Pottsville CollegeTowne represents the incredible possibilities that arise when innovation, collaboration and community spirit align,” said Alvernia President Glynis A. Fitzgerald, Ph.D. “Today’s ribbon cutting reflects our shared commitment to creating spaces that support wellness, opportunity and connection for Pottsville families and for the students who learn and serve here.”
With the expansion, Schuylkill YMCA expects to double gymnastics participation from 75 to 150 kids.
