One injured, one arrested following shooting in Mt. Carmel Twp.
MOUNT CARMEL TWP. – A suspect is in custody after police say they had multiple reports of shots fired across the township over the weekend.
Officers from Mount Carmel Township, Mount Carmel Borough, and Kulpmont were called to the 500 block of Pine Street on Saturday for a report of shots fired. Shortly after, more shots were reported in the area of the “black desert” followed by the water treatment plant in Mount Carmel Township.
Just before 10pm, a gunshot victim was reported at Brennan’s Farm Road and Nevada Drive, not far from the water treatment plant. That victim was taken by AREA Services to an are a hospital for treatment.
A suspect was taken into custody and there is no threat to the public, according to Mount Carmel Township Police.
Information on the suspect and their charges was not provided as of Tuesday evening.
