SFD, Township Fire remain prepared as water system repairs awaited

SHENANDOAH – Fire departments in the Shenandoah area say they remain prepared as the water system remains in disarray late Tuesday.
Aqua Pennsylvania continues to work on a solution to restore water service to town as customers in Shenandoah and the surrounding valley have little-to-no water.

In the meantime, the Shenandoah Fire Department and West Mahanoy Township fire department both have contingency plans in place.
Tanker task forces — typically used for larger incidents in areas with fire hydrants — are on standby in case of a structure fire in Shenandoah, William Penn, Lost Creek, and the surrounding area.
