Local police stations participate in drug take back day
SHENANDOAH – This Saturday is National Drug Take Back Day, and several local police departments are participating.
The program aims to allow residents to safely dispose of their unused or expired medications and was started by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration to combat the drug overdose epidemic.
Take Back locations in our area include:
- Shenandoah Police Department, 15 West Washington Street;
- West Mahanoy Township Police Department; 190 Pennsylvania Ave., Shenandoah Heights;
- Ashland Police Department, 401 South 18th Street;
- Butler Township Police Department, 211 Broad Street, Fountain Springs;
- Frackville Police Department, 42 South Center Street;
- Mahanoy City Police Department, 239 East Pine Street;
- McAdoo Police Department, 23 North Hancock Street.
The take back locations will be available from 10am to 2pm Saturday.
