PSP investigating fatal crash in Primrose
PRIMROSE – State Police at Frackville are investigating a fatal head-on crash in this Cass Township village Friday evening.
The crash happened around 7:30pm at Sunbury Road and Old Phoenix Road.
Troopers released few details about the vehicles involved, but said one vehicle was travelling north on Route 901 at a “high rate of speed” attempting to pass numerous vehicles approaching a turn.
That vehicle struck an oncoming vehicle head-on.
Both vehicles were disabled and three people in the struck vehicle were seriously injured.
The driver of the striking vehicle exited his vehicle immediately after the crash and was not injured.
At least one person was killed in the crash, troopers said, but provided few details about them and whether or not they were a driver or passenger.
Two people were taken to local hospitals by EMS for treatment.
Troopers said further information will be released when next-of-kin is notified.
