Demalis inducted into honor society at Penn State

STATE COLLEGE, Centre County – A Shenandoah Heights woman attending Penn State was recently inducted into the nation’s “oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society.”
Alaina Demalis, Shenandoah Heights, a 2016 Shenandoah Valley graduate,was recently inducted into the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi. She attends Penn State University, pursuing a degree in Kinesiology.
Demalis is among a group of 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff, and alumni initiated into the society per year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapte rof the society.
According to a media release, only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors eligible. The top 10 percent of graduate students may also qualify, as well as certain faculty members, professional staff, and alumni.
Demalis is the daughter of Anthony and Judy Demalis, both of Shenandoah Heights.
