Shenandoah man faces forgery, theft charges for fake skill game ticket

SHENANDOAH – A Shenandoah man is facing charges after police say he swindled $410 out of a convenience store downtown using a fake skill game ticket.

Juan Manuel Olguin-Sanchez, 25, of 223 South Ferguson, is facing a felony forgery charge along with misdemeanor theft and receiving stolen property charges.

The charges were filed on Dec. 5 by Shenandoah Police.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the A to Z Food Mart at 100 North Main Street around 2pm on Nov. 24.

Police were told by store staff that, two days earlier, Olguin-Sanchez approached the register with a supposed winning ticket from a Pennsylvania Skill machine in the store.

He handed the ticket, which was supposedly for a $410 prize, to the cashier, who gave him the cash.

When contacted by store staff via Facebook Messenger and given he chance to return the money, Olguin Sanchez refused, and charges were filed.

He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker on Dec. 6 and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 28 before Kilker.
