SHENANDOAH – A borough man is behind bars on $25,000 bail after he was found lying on the ground at the Turkey Hill, intoxicated, and attempted to flee early this morning.

The incident occurred around 2:00am when a pair of borough officers, William Moyer and Adam Sajone, were dispatched to the Turkey Hill convenience store on South Main Street.

Officers found a male, later identified as Thomas Seward, 38, of the 200 block of West Oak Street, lying on the ground asleep. The pair awoke him, and found he was intoxicated.

Seward then provided “several different names and dates-of-birth” in lieu of identification, and, after several unsuccessful attempts to confirm his identity, he attempted to run.

Officers caught up and caught Seward, and transported him to the Frackville barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police, where he was positively identified as Seward.

Seward was taken into custody on charges of Flight to Avoid Apprehension, a felony, false identificaton to law enforcement, a misdemeanor, resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, possession of controlled substances,a misdemeanor, possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and public drunkenness, a summary.

Seward was also taken into custody on an arrest warrant from Philadelphia County for burglary.

He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $25,000 cash bail.
