Zoners give approval to South Main daycare
SHENANDOAH – A Shenandoah woman was given zoning approval to operate a daycare center out of her South Main Street home Thursday afternoon.
Estephany Ventura sought approval from the Shenandoah Zoning Hearing Board to operate the center out of 409 South Main Street, a row home south of Laurel Street before the Gold Star Bridge.
She told the board that she is a single mom and has had difficulty finding child care in the Shenandoah area.
“I thought I could, as a single mom, take care of my baby while at the same time working and helping the community,” Ventura said. “I love children, I like working with them and I have experience in that area.”
The day care would serve eight to 10 kids daily, she said.
Parking was raised as a concern by the zoning board.
The matter was before the board as a change of use.
