Zion Grove man seriously injured in Stockton crash
STOCKTON – A 19-year-old from Zion Grove was seriously injured in a crash in this Hazle Township village Sunday evening.
The crash happened around 6:30pm Sunday at Stockton Mountain Road and Club Forty Road.
State Police at Hazleton said Nikos C. Rapach, 19, of Zion Grove was headed west on Club Forty Road towards Stockton Mountain Road in a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado.
Troopers said Rapach failed to stop at the stop sign at that intersection and was struck by a 2019 Dodge Ram, driven by Dustin Halechko, 32, of Weatherly.
The impact of the crash sent Rapach’s pickup into a utility pole.
Rapach was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Hazleton for treatment of a suspected serious injury. Troopers said he was not wearing a seatbelt.
Halechko and his passengers — Maria Lombardi, 30, a 6-year-old boy, and an infant girl, all of Weatherly — were all taken to a local hospital for possible injuries, troopers said. All were in proper safety equipment.
