Wreaths Across America returning to Hometown; sponsors sought
HOMETOWN – An effort to honor veterans buried at a Schuylkill County cemetery are underway once again, and you can help.
Sky-View Memorial Park in Hometown is participating in National Wreaths Across America Day and a ceremony is set for Saturday, Dec. 14.
They hope to raise enough funds to place 3,762 sponsored wreaths on the headstones of all veterans laid to rest there.
So far, 915 or 24% of the wreaths are sponsored. The deadline for orders via check is November 19th and online orders have been extended until December 3rd – Giving Tuesday.
If you wish to sponsor a wreath and wish to mail a check or money order, it should be made payable to “Wreaths Across America” and mailed to:
Eric Zizelmann, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252

Glenn Hummel, one of the nine WAA Location Coordinators for Sky-View Memorial Park, says that veterans exemplify selflessness and dedication to both their country and to each other.
“We owe a debt to our country’s heroes that we can never fully repay, but we can honor their sacrifice, and we must,” Hummel said.
