Wooden grandstands to be replaced at Veterans Memorial Stadium

SHENANDOAH – The wooden bleachers at Veterans Memorial Stadium will be replaced, the Shenandoah Valley School Board approved Monday night.

At Monday night’s special meeting, the board approved a $507,300 contract with Stadium Solutions, Inc., of Butler, to build aluminum grandstands at the stadium.

Superintendent Brian Waite said the grandstands could be slightly smaller in capacity than the current stands.

The stands, the last wooden football grandstands in Schuylkill County, have become more difficult to repair and keep safe in recent years.
