West Mahanoy Township Police recover stolen ATV
ALTAMONT – West Mahanoy Township Police recently recovered an ATV that had been stolen from the Altamont section of the township.
The theft was reported on August 4 from a home on South Wylam Street.
A resident reported the ATV was parked to the rear of the home and had been stolen.
The next day, in William Penn, township police saw an ATV partially covered with a tarp at an unoccupied home on Elliot Street. The ATV fit the description of the one that had been stolen.
Police said it was determined that the stolen ATV and the ATV in William Penn were the same, and the ATV was processed, recovered, and returned to the owner.
The investigation is ongoing and charges have not yet been filed.
