Watro formally announces re-election bid
KLINE TOWNSHIP – State Rep. Dane Watro (R-116) formally announced his re-election bid this week.
“It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve the people of Schuylkill and Luzerne counties in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives,” Watro said. “I want to continue to be an advocate for our community and the values we hold dear.”
During his time in the State Legislature, Watro says he has earned a reputation as “a trusted leader who cuts through the partisan gridlock in Harrisburg to deliver real results for the people he was elected to represent.”
“Pennsylvania taxpayers work hard for their money,” Watro said. “We need a proven fiscal conservative to protect our values. That’s why the voters in Schuylkill and Luzerne counties can count on me to defend our constitutional rights. I have also fought to reduce taxes for our hardworking families and seniors on fixed incomes, protect and create family-sustaining jobs, invest in our police to reduce crime, and empower parents with more control over their children’s education.”
He touted accomplishments of his first term, including legislation to make it easier for veterans to find work in the private sector and bringing $10 Million in state funding to the 116th district.
Prior to serving in the House of Representatives, Watro served in the United States Army, received commendations from the FBI for combatting international terrorism, served as the Mayor of McAdoo Borough, worked as an attendance-truancy officer for the Hazleton Area School District, and was a member of the Hazleton Area Education Association.
“I have been honored to carry the voice of community to the halls of government and would be honored to be able to continue to serve my friends and neighbors,” Watro concluded.
Watro and his wife Angela reside in Kline Township and have two daughters, Anastasia and Genevieve.
