HOMETOWN – Walmart announced Wednesday the company plans to remodel 26 stores in Pennsylvania, including two of the closest to our area.

It’s part of a plan to remodel 650 stores across the country.

Among the 26 stores statewide, Walmart plans to remodel the Coal Township location off Route 61 near Kulpmont and the Hometown location off Route 309 in the HT Commons near Hometown.

“Our stores often serve as the heartbeat of the communities we operate in, and these remodels are a testament to our dedication to enhancing that role,” said Annie Walker, Senior Vice President, East Business Unit at Walmart. “By investing in our stores and associates, we are not only improving the shopping experience but also reinforcing our commitment to being a vital part of the community’s fabric, helping to build a brighter future for all.”

They call it “re-imagining the in-store shopping experience,” with updates throughout the store.

The Saint Clair location was remodeled this past year and the remodels, the company says, will be similar.

The remodels will expand departments, Walmart says, and expand online pickup and delivery.
