Virginia trucker threatens to kill Zion Grove woman in apparent fit of road rage.
MIFFLINVILLE – A trucker from the Hampton Roads region of Virginia is facing charges after state troopers say he threatened to kill a Zion Grove woman in a fit of road rage.
State Police at Bloomsburg charged Eric Berry, 38, of Suffolk, Virginia Monday with terroristic threats, simple assault, and harassment, all misdemeanors.
The incident happened on May 8 on Interstate 80 in Mifflin Township, Columbia County.
Troopers said Berry confronted a 32-year-old Zion Grove woman, grabbing a pipe from the cab of his tractor-trailer, approaching her and saying he would “F—-ng kill her.”
When she said she was calling the police, he got back into the truck and took off, police said.
She had the company name and USDOT number from the truck, however, and troopers were able to identify Berry through the company.
A preliminary hearing is set for July 23 in Catawissa.
