Unconfirmed threat in bathroom prompts Mahanoy closure
MAHANOY CITY – Mahanoy Area Schools will be closed tomorrow, Sept. 23, following an unconfirmed threat found in a bathroom.
Parents were notified via email Tuesday evening that the school district would be closed for in-person instruction.
Students would have virtual classes, instead. Students will be given work via Google Classroom.
“Please stay off school grounds,” the school asked. “We take our students and staff’s safety very seriously.”
The school promised that the person who made the threat will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
