Two vehicles damaged in Frackville car accident

FRACKVILLE – Two vehicles were involved in an accident near a busy intersection in the borough Friday afternoon.

The dispatch came just after 2:30pm for reports of a two vehicle accident on South Lehigh Avenue, with airbags deployed.

According to Frackville Police Chief Rick Bell, a Chevy Cruze was travelling northbound on Lehigh (PA Route 61) while a Hyundai Elantra was exiting the Turkey Hill convenience store parking lot, to enter Lehigh to travel southbound.

The Hyundai struck the Chevy broadside, causing its airbags to deploy.

The Chevy was moved off the roadway into the parking lot of a service station on the west side of Lehigh Avenue, while the Hyundai pulled off a few doors down.

The Hyundai was able to be driven from the scene.
