RINGTOWN – Two students at the Schuylkill Technology Center were named recipients of a scholarship in memory of a northern Schuylkill businessman.

The Robert “Bob” Babarsky scholarship is awarded to two students at the center each year, in memory of Babarsky, of Ringtown, who owned Thunder Road in Shenandoah and the Wagon Wheel in Ringtown. He passed away in 2020.

This year’s recipients are Keenan Cook, Tamaqua; and Carson Auker, Schuylkill Haven.

“We’re proud to continue supporting students through this scholarship in his honor,” Breanna, Bob’s daughter, told the Sentinel.

An avid motorcycle rider, a bike run is held in Babarsky’s memory to raise funds for the scholarship.
