Two Shenandoah scouts receive Eagle in Ringtown troop
RINGTOWN – At a ceremony over the weekend in Ringtown, two scouts from town were recognized as they reached the pinnacle of scouting.
Michael Papa and Lucas Zelinsky, both of Shenandoah, were recognized in a court of honor ceremony at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
The two are part of Ringtown BSA Troop 731, and were originally members of Shenandoah Troop 721 until membership there began to dwindle.
Joined by family, friends, and scouts, Papa and Zelinsky shared memories of their time in scouting and recognized their mentors and parents.
Eagle Scout is the highest rank in Boy Scouting, and, according to BSA, since 1912, more than two million Boy Scouts have earned the Eagle Scout rank.
Papa and Zelinsky join 18 other Shenandoah natives to reach the rank of Eagle Scout.
