Two men face drug charges after raids in town

SHENANDOAH – Two people were arrested Friday after local, state, and federal authorities executed search warrants on two homes in the borough.

Felony drug charges were filed against Darious Felder, 34, of Furnace Street, and Mark Thompson, 50, of South 10th Street, Ashland.

Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Schuylkill County Drug Task Force, and officers from the Shenandoah Police Department executed warrants on homes in Turkey Run and on South West Street Friday morning.

According to the criminal complaints filed by Shenandoah Police Chief George Carado, the two men are accused of selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant in separate controlled purchases in January, March, and April.

In Felder’s case, he was accused of selling methamphetamine twice — both at a location near Centre and Jardin Streets in the borough. The second time, he was seen by law enforcement entering a home on West Street before the deal.

Thompson was seen at that address as well.

Both men were arrested Friday morning and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker.

Felder was committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $100,000 bail.

Thompson was denied bail, with court documents noting “no amount of bail or bail conditions can ensure community safety.”
