Two injured in rollover crash near Centralia

CONYNGHAM TOWNSHIP – Two people were taken to a Montour County hospital when they rolled their car near Centralia Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2:30pm on Route 61 between Centralia and Mount Carmel.

According to the State Police at Bloomsburg, Benjamin Hornberger, 19, of Mount Carmel, was headed east on Route 61 at a high rate of speed in a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro.

Troopers said he lost control of the car, drove onto the right shoulder and up a slight embankment, rolling the car.

The vehicle slid for a quarter of a mile on its roof, troopers said, and was disabled and towed by Klischer’s Towing.

Hornberger and 55-year-old Richard Fahringer, of Mount Carmel, a passenger, were taken to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for treatment of minor injuries. Another passengger, Justin Bizzarro, 21, of Mount Carmel, was not injured.

All were wearing their seatbelt.
