Two evaluated for smoke inhalation after Aristes kitchen fire
ARISTES – Two people were evaluated after a kitchen fire at a home in this Conyngham Township village.
Firefighters were called to a home at 3610 Aristes Highway around 3pm for a reported house fire.
“It was originally upgraded to entrapment because of smoke showing and reports that an occupant was still inside,” Aristes Fire Capt. Madison Yeager told the Sentinel. “That individual was out upon our arrival.”
Crews arrived to find a small fire in the kitchen, which was extinguished within about 10 minutes, Yeager said.
“It was called in early and held to a small area of the kitchen,” Yeager said.
Two residents were evaluated by medical personnel at the scene for smoke inhalation.
No other injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigation.
Assisting Aristes firefighters were firefighters from Wilburton, Centralia, Mount Carmel, Kulpmont, Numidia, Atlas, Ringtown, among others, as well as medical personnel from Shenandoah and AREA Services.
