Two displaced in Mahanoy City row home fire

MAHANOY CITY – Several homes were damaged in a blaze here early Thursday morning.
Firefighters were called to the 700 block of East Mahanoy Street in Mahanoy City around 12:30am for a reported house fire.
Crews arrived to find a fire burning between 702 and 704 East Mahanoy Street and spreading.
A second alarm was struck, bringing crews from Shenandoah, Girardville, Frackville, Ryan Township, Englewood, and more to assist the Mahanoy City Fire Department.
Mahanoy City Fire Chief Dan Markiewicz told the Sentinel that all occupants were out of the homes when crews arrived and no injuries were reported.
Two people are displaced, the chief said, and they are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
A State Police fire marshal is en route to investigate.
Homes at 702, 704, and 706 East Mahanoy sustained fire damage.
Firefighters remained on scene for about three hours.
