Two area establishments cited for liquor law violations

NORTHERN SCHUYLKILL – Two establishments in our area were cited for liquor law violations in February, the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement announced Monday.

In Shenandoah, Shenandoah Pit Stop LLC, 415 South Main Street — the Valero gas station — was cited on Feb. 19 for an incident on Dec. 27, 2019.

Troopers said on that date the business sold alcohol to a 19-year-old.

In Girardville, Balky’s Quarts and Six Packs, 108 East Main Street, on the same day did the same thing, troopers said. The citation for said offense was filed on Feb. 19 as well.

The offenses will be brought before an Administrative Law Judge, who can levy penalties of $50-$1,000 for minor offenses, up to $5,000 for more serious offenses, and can suspend or revoke a license based on a charge’s severity. Additionally, the judge can mandate training for the licensee.
