Troopers: Drunk borough man caused disturbance, violated parole, and was danger to himself or others

Sentinel Staff Reports

SHENANDOAH – A borough man is in county prison on a state parole violation and will face a public drunkenness charge after state troopers say he caused a disturbance downtown yesterday morning.

According to State Police at Frackville, a passing trooper on North Main Street observed a male causing a disturbance at the corner of West Lloyd and Main around 9:50am.

Troopers found the man, later identified as Stephen Mackeravage, 48, of Shenandoah, was under the influence of alcohol “to a degree he was a danger to himself or others.”

Troopers and state parole officers, who were assisting PSP, took Mackeravage into custody for violating his parole.

Mackeravage was subsequently lodged at the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville and public drunkenness charges will be filed, troopers said.
