MAHANOY CITY – Several teams came out to play softball for a good cause over the weekend.
The co-ed tournament at East End Park in Mahanoy City was held to raise money to benefit the Make-A-Wish Fountain of Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

It was originally set for August 17 and 18 but was pushed back to August 24 due to weather.
Organizers told the Sentinel that the money raised goes towards a Make-A-Wish recipient and that the charity tries to prioritize a recipient from Schuylkill County if possible.
Nine teams came out for the double-elimination tournament.
