Three brush fires, one house fire in Saint Clair area Thursday afternoon
SAINT CLAIR – Saint Clair firefighters were kept busy Thursday afternoon, at one point running from one call to another.
Firefighters from the borough handled three brush fires — one each in the borough and New Castle and East Norwegian townships — and a reported house fire in the East Mines section of the borough.
One brush fire was on Wade Road in New Castle, near cemeteries. Another was on Caroline Avenue in East Norwegian.
The third call of the day was a house fire at 17 Ann Street, across from the Phoenix firehouse.
Crews there found an electrical fire in a wall and made quick work of the fire.
While crews were on scene there, another brush fire was called in, this one on McCord Avenue in the borough, at the entrance to the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
West End and Alert firefighters ran back to their trucks and left Ann Street for that call while the rest of the department handled the electrical fire.
No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
