THIS WEEKEND: Shen. Valley Drama Club to perform Matilda
SHENANDOAH – This weekend, the Shenandoah Valley Drama Club will present Matilda The Musical.
Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical is the story of an extraordinary girl who dares to take a stand and change her own destiny, according to a description provided by the school.
“Matilda is unloved by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood, but bonds with her lovable school teacher Miss Honey,” the description reads. “The headmistress of the school, Agatha Trunchbull loves to punish children who do not abide by her rules. With Matilda’s courage, she could be the saving grace for her big and little kid peers!”
The lead cast, pictured above from left to right: Emily Morales as Mrs. Wormwood, Jennifer Selbi as Agatha Trunchbull, Valeria Hernandez as Matilda Wormwood, Victoria Hernandez as Miss Honey, and George Vasquez as Mr. Wormwood.
The show is directed by Meghan Artley, music directed by Rocco Roguskie, stage managed by Camryn Carduff, and assisted stage managed by Lindsey Zackaravage-Schaeffer. All four advisors are alumni of SVDC.
Presale tickets will be available for purchase in the Shenandoah Valley High School Lobby Thursday, April 27 from 6-8pm.
