Teen accused of assaulting Luzerne County police officer
DRUMS – An 18-year-old is facing felony charges, accused of assaulting a police officer in Luzerne County.
Julian A. Lindquist Bubrowski, 18, of Drums, was charged by Butler Township, Luzerne County, Police with aggravated assault on a police officer, simple assault, resisting arrest, underage drinking and other summary counts.
The incident happened last Wednesday evening around 8pm.
Authorities initially received a report of an intoxicated person walking along the highway in the area of Hunter Highway and West Butler Drive in Butler Township. Later, a caller reported the same person “screaming and yelling” at the rear of the Meating House restaurant on Freedom Road.
At the restaurant, multiple people were trying to restrain Lindquist Bubrowski when officers arrived.
Police alleged Lindquist Bubrowski struggled with the officer, continued to yell and scream and attempted to flee off an elevated back deck.
The officer, who police say was working alone, restrained him against the deck railing while waiting for backup.
Lindquist Bubrowski then allegedly aggressively swung his head back and forth, striking the officer in the head, injuring him.
He was committed to Luzerne County Prison, unable to post $25,000 bail.
