Supervisors: tax reassessment team will be in Mahanoy Twp. in two weeks
MAHANOY CITY – The team working on the countywide property tax reassessment will be in Mahanoy Township in two weeks, township supervisors said at Thursday’s meeting.
Vision Government Services has been working on the reassessment process for several months.
“All assessors will have nametags,” Jim Stevens, township supervisor said, citing a recent encounter with an alleged imposter in Union Township.
“And they’re not entering homes. They’re assessing the property, not the inside of your house,” Brian Johnson, police chief, said. “So they shouldn’t be entering your house at all.”
In other business, township supervisors approved a payment request for a road project and the private sale of 1 Coles Street.
